Job Description

The Business Development Manager helps to develop strategic relationships with partners or potential customers. Assists in the development of a strong pipeline of new customers and projects in accounts through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting. Works with local teams to coordinate and implement the best approach to foster and develop existing and new business and support service line expansions.

The strategy should be consistent with the vision, goals, and focus aligned with MGA. The Business Development Manager should analyze opportunities in the market and develop a comprehensive business plan to maximize potential referrals. The Business Development Manager should develop relationships and educate referral sources and payors within the healthcare continuum on the services that MGA provides. The referral sources include, but are not limited to, healthcare facilities, healthcare programs, therapy centers, preschools, EI groups physician groups, case management groups, and local military programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prospect, identify, initiate, develop and nurture business relationships and opportunities in assigned territory/market/target accounts to generate new business
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • Research and build relationships with new clients, as well as foster meetings between client decision-makers and the company’s practice leaders.
  • Manage and qualify inbound warm leads to create sales-ready leads and opportunities.
  • Work with the team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Work with the team to develop marketing materials or educational materials to cater/help develop business relationships.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.  Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing client relationships with the various parties to anticipate and resolve potential problems. Participate in site visits.
  • Handle objections and use sales strategy/technique to match customer needs to our solutions.
  • Reports directly to the Director of Therapy.
  • Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
  • Collaborate and work alongside the recruiter to foster applicable team growth.
  • Present to various sizes of audiences from one on one to large groups
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet targets.
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose to enhance the company’s performance.

Business Development Planning

  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Business Development Planning

  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior-level management on business trends to develop new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Management and Research

  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Collaborate with local teams and VPO/VPC in supporting goals of location and developing quarterly and annual forecasts.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose to enhance the company’s performance.

Qualifications

  • 2 year of experience in pediatric therapy setting preferred
  • 1 year prior lead generation or inside sales experience preferred
  • Healthcare sales within home and community based services preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in fast-past environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of customer service
  • Able to travel throughout market area
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, reliable and independent self-starter with strong organizational, decision making, problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed and work as an individual contributor as well as part of a team
  • Honest, high level of work ethic and integrity, assertive and strong desire to succeed

Additional Information

Benefits are available to eligible employees on the first of the month after 30 days of employment and include:
